ZANTEL TO CHARGE LOCAL TARIFF TO INTERNATIONAL CALLS

Zantel has launched an offer that will allow its subscribers to make international calls at local call rates.The offer is for both prepaid and postpaid customers and aimed at connecting Tanzanians with their friends, family and business associates living abroad. The offer is also aimed at rewarding Zantel subscribers who are high spenders on local calls by giving an incentive to make international calls at local rates.

QUALIFICATION

For a subscriber to qualify he needs to have an airtime balance of more than TZS 20,000 upon registration and spend a minimum of TZS 20,000 every 30 days on local calls and SMS to benefit from the offer. Once a customers registers TZS 20,000 will be set for only local calls and SMS and he can use the remaining airtime to make international calls to 3 destinations from the list of selected countries at local call rates.

For example if you have airtime of TZS 25,000 in your Zantel account, TZS 20,000 will be set to be used for local calls and SMS and the TZS 5000 can be used to make international calls that will be charged with local call rates.

REGISTRATION FOR THE SERVICE

To register for this service Zantel subscribers will have to call 108 while non Zantel customer will have to call 0776 800 800 for information on how they can benefit from this offer.

The launch of this offer demonstrates Zantel’s commitment to leading the drive in innovation, product differentiation and championing consumer interests in Tanzania. Another recent service that was launched by Zantel is DEZO DEZO which awards Zantel subscriber with 20% free airtime on outgoing calls and TZS 10 per minute on incoming calls.

Other services are SIM SWOP, famously known as NAMBA ILE ILE which offers mobile phone subscribers from all networks the opportunity to secure their existing number on the Zantel network or request a number of their choice where ever they are using their mobile phones without the hassle of visiting a customer care centre.
